Yes. The Hellenic Seaways sailing from Syros to Lavrio on 30 July 2026 was cancelled — affecting the 10:35 departure, the 31 July 2026 sailing, the 21:00 departure. Hellenic Seaways gave the reason as: bad weather conditions.

Question 2

How much compensation am I owed under EU Regulation 1177/2010?

Accepted Answer

Under Article 19 of EU Regulation 1177/2010, compensation is a percentage of the fare for the delayed leg, and how late you must arrive depends on how long the crossing was scheduled to take. On a crossing scheduled to take up to 4 hours: 25% if you arrive at least 1 hour late, and 50% if you arrive at least 2 hours late. On a crossing scheduled to take 4 hours to 8 hours: 25% if you arrive at least 2 hours late, and 50% if you arrive at least 4 hours late. On a crossing scheduled to take 8 hours to 24 hours: 25% if you arrive at least 3 hours late, and 50% if you arrive at least 6 hours late. On a crossing scheduled to take more than 24 hours: 25% if you arrive at least 6 hours late, and 50% if you arrive at least 12 hours late. Cancellations, and disruption caused by strike action or weather, are assessed case by case, and the operator makes the final decision.

Question 3

How do I file a claim?

Accepted Answer

Upload your ticket for this Hellenic Seaways sailing and tell us how late you arrived. We read the booking details, pre-qualify your claim against the regulation, and prepare it for you to file through the operator's own compensation process. ReFerry is a facilitator: we never receive or pay out your compensation — the operator pays you directly.
